Enroll or Unenroll in Medical Benefits (After 30 days)

You can enroll in or make any sort of change (such as dropping) to your benefit selections (health insurance, vision, or dental) during your first 30 days of employment, during Open Enrollment (week after Thanksgiving), or due to a Qualifying Life Event. An example of a Qualifying Life Event is Marriage, loss of coverage, etc.

Epitec must be notified within 30 days of the qualifying event and be provided proof in order to make changes to your benefits. You cannot opt out or make any sort of changes to your insurance unless you have a qualifying life event.

Example: if you lose medical insurance, you may enroll in Epitec's medical plan within 30 days of the loss of coverage. If you do not have medical included in your compensation package, we will need to add it your compensation package, which will lower your hourly rate. Epitec requires official documentation from your insurance carrier stating when the last date of coverage was. Once we receive that documentation and you accept the adjusted (Lower) pay rate, Human Resources will enroll you in Epitec's medical plan.  Epitec's coverage would be effective the day that your other coverage ended.
