Client Shutdown

Problem

Could you tell me how it works during the shutdown between Christmas and the New Year? Is this paid time off since we don't have a choice in working or is this just something that I need to plan for not being paid that week?

Solution

If you have paid holidays in your compensation package, Epitec recognized holidays will be paid. Please note, for Epitec recognized holidays you must enter 8 hours in Epilink and select holiday as the service code in order to be paid for those days.

For the remainder of the shutdown, if you have available PTO you will need to use that in accordance with the PTO policy. PTO Time: View Accrued PTO in Epilink Employee PortalConsultant PTO Policy

If you have PTO in your package and do not have available PTO hours, another option is to sign a PTO Repayment Agreement that will allow you to borrow up to 24 hrs of PTO  The PTO Repayment Agreement does not affect your paycheck. It only impacts you in the sense that you will not be able to take PTO until your PTO bank is positive again. If you want to use a PTO Repayment Agreement, please let us know the exact dates and amount of hours requested, and we will send you a form to sign.  PTO Repayment Agreement: Borrowing PTO Time (PTO Repayment Agreement)

If you do not have available PTO or do not have PTO in your compensation package, the shutdown days will be unpaid.
