Check for/Update your computer (Windows Updates)

Sometimes, your computer needs to be updated in order for your computer to run applications smoothly. Follow the steps below on how to update your computer.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Click the windows logo on the bottom left corner of the screen.
  2. Click settings (The one with the gear icon). 
  3. Click on Update & Security

  4. Click Check online for updates from Microsoft Update if you have the option. If not, click on check for updates. Usually, once you click Update & Security from step 3, it will sometimes automatically check updates for you.
  5. During updating, it will sometimes ask you to restart your computer. Keep repeating steps 1-4 until your computer says that you are up-to-date.
  6. Once the updates are done downloading and installing, restart your computer.
    1. Do NOT turn off your computer while updates are being downloaded/installed.
