How to Block a Number or Contact in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft only allows you to block communications from individual phone numbers if they’re in your contacts, so we’ll need to create a new contact in Outlook in order to block the number in Teams.
- In Outlook, click New Items at the top left of the ribbon and choose Contact from the drop-down.
- Enter the number you’d like to block.
- Give your contact a name and email address. You can make up anything you want for these, but make sure your made-up email address is in the typical email address format.
- Hit Save and Close in the top left corner and navigate back to Teams.
- Find your new contact in Teams by going to Calls > Contacts and searching the name of the contact.
- Right-click on the three dots for the contact, choose Block.

Blocking a number in Microsoft teams is fairly simple.
- From Microsoft Teams, you will want to navigate to Calls and then history.
- In your history menu, you will want to locate the number you would like blocked.
- After you have located the number, you will click on the three dots next to the number and a list will pop up.
- You can then select block.
