Enable MFA in Atlassian (Jira, Trello)

Note: An authenticator mobile application is required. You may use the same application that you use to authenticate your other Epitec accounts.

Steps to setup MFA:

1. Visit https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security/two-step-verification (you may have to login if you are logged out).

2. Enter your Jira/Atlassian credentials and click on ‘Set up’.

 

 

3. On your phone, open the authenticator app that you use for your other Epitec accounts, and click on add a new account of type ‘other’ (a plus '+' sign in Microsoft authenticator, found at the top right). Choose the option to ‘Scan QR code’

 

 

4. On your browser, click on ‘Yes, ready to scan code’. And Scan the code with your phone.

5. Save the recovery key displayed to a secure note in your LastPass. This code is used as an emergency access code to your Jira account in the event you lose your phone. IT is also able to disable your MFA, if needed.

 

6. You should now see the word ‘ENABLED’ next to Two-step verification, your account is now protected with MFA.
